The book in your hands

What format are the books?

The books are case-laminate hardcovers with full-color interiors printed on 70 lb white paper. They are designed for shared reading and repeated visits to the Story Tree World.

Why did you choose a landscape hardcover?

The wide format gives each scene room to breathe and allows children to notice expressions, surroundings, and small details within the illustrations. The hardcover construction also provides a durable format for family reading, classrooms, waiting rooms, and shared collections.

What ages are the stories written for?

The primary audience is children ages 3–8. The stories are also written with the adult reader in mind, creating a read-aloud experience that children and grown-ups can enjoy together.

Do the books need to be read in order?

No. Each book tells a complete story and can be enjoyed on its own. Reading the series from the beginning adds another layer, allowing readers to watch the family grow, revisit familiar places, and see relationships develop across the books.

Are the characters based on real dogs?

Yes. Brando, Gonzo, Raven, Griffin, and Greta are inspired by real members of our family. Their personalities, relationships, and everyday moments help shape the stories.

What kinds of stories can readers expect?

The books explore friendship, family, curiosity, courage, belonging, and the quiet importance of being there for one another. The dogs experience these ideas naturally through their adventures rather than through lessons or lectures.

Do I need to purchase every book to enjoy the series?

Not at all. Every story stands independently. Readers may discover the books at home, receive one as a gift, borrow or share a copy, or encounter one in a school, library, waiting room, or community space. However a reader reaches the Story Tree, they are welcome.

Will more books be added?

Yes. The first five books establish the family and the Story Tree World. Future stories allow the characters to explore new places, relationships, seasons, and ordinary moments together.
